How therapy process works
Depression can be influenced by a variety of factors, including brain chemistry, genetics, early life experiences, and lifestyle habits. Trauma—whether from childhood or generational experiences—can also play a significant role in how depression develops and persists.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I help clients understand the root causes of their depression and work to retrain unhelpful thinking patterns, restore emotional balance, and strengthen brain function. Using CBT and relational therapy, along with evidence-based strategies, clients learn tools to manage mood, improve relationships, and increase motivation. For clients whose depression is linked to past trauma or unresolved experiences, EMDR can also be a highly effective approach to process these underlying issues.
