Anxiety & Anxiety Disorders

overview

Individual Therapy Sessions

While occasional anxiety is normal, persistent or intense anxiety can interfere with daily life, relationships, and overall well-being.

People struggling with anxiety often experience constant worry, racing thoughts, restlessness, irritability, panic attacks, or a sense of being out of control. Anxiety can drain confidence, reduce enjoyment, and make it difficult to navigate responsibilities or personal goals.

How therapy process works

Anxiety can develop from a combination of factors. From a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective, it often results from patterns of thought that overestimate danger and underestimate coping abilities. In many cases, childhood experiences, generational trauma, or past life events can contribute to these patterns, influencing how the brain and body respond to stress.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to understand the root causes of their anxiety, build coping strategies, and restore a sense of control and balance. For clients whose anxiety is linked to past experiences or trauma, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can be an effective approach, allowing them to process and release the impact of those experiences safely.
