These may include compulsive patterns related to food, exercise, sex, pornography, gaming, social media, work, or technology use. What these behaviors have in common is not the behavior itself, but the loss of control, emotional dependence, and difficulty stopping despite the impact on one’s life.

My approach

How therapy process works

In my work as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I have extensive experience helping individuals address both substance-related and behavioral addictions. I approach addiction from a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused perspective, recognizing that many addictive patterns develop as attempts to manage emotional pain or past experiences.

Treatment focuses on helping clients understand the function their addictive behavior serves, identify triggers and underlying emotional patterns, and develop healthier, more sustainable coping strategies. We also work to process past experiences or trauma that may contribute to the cycle of addiction, while strengthening emotional regulation, self-compassion, and accountability.

Therapy provides a supportive space to regain balance, rebuild trust with yourself and others, and develop skills that support long-term stability and well-being. With commitment and support, recovery is not about perfection, but about creating a life that feels more grounded, connected, and fulfilling.
